Symptoms

- The lower leaves begin to turn yellow and wilt from the margins back towards the base. Leaves can be easily pulled from the base. The base will show a brown and musty texture. Fluffy white threads of fungus may be present on the tissue and soil around the base of the plant.

Water lilies that are affected by crown rot, can die off in entire clumps. Affected plants turn yellow and produce few flowers.

Suspected Crown Rot with my Rheum Palmatum

Question from Stephanie Hill

Hi,
leaves on my Rheum Palmatum are turning yellow and Redon patches. new leaves are yellowed and growth has slowed overall. should I lift it, add grit to the soil & replant or it it too late? Also unidentified insect (see photo) has appeared on underside of leaves. I have picked these off - are they bad for the plant?
Thanks
