Coriaria is a genus of about 8 species of usually deciduous trees or shrubs and rhizomatous perennials found in grassland, scrub, and woodlands of warm-temperate mountainous regions. Arching shoots bear simple, entire leaves and, in spring, racemes of insignificant green flowers are followed by fleshy, black, red, or yellow fruit.
