Epipactis is a genus of about 24 species of terrestrial, rhizomatous, deciduous orchids from temperate marshes, woodland, dunes, or alpine meadows in the Northern hemisphere with ribbed, ovate to lance-shaped leaves and twisted stalks bearing spikes of spurless flowers with curved upper petals and loved, cup-shaped lower petals.
