Roystonea is a genus of about 10 species of single-stemmed palms found in moist soil on the Carribean islands with columnar trunks, sometimes swollen in the middle or at the base, topped with a tuft of pinnate, mid-green leaves. Panicles of tiny, cup-shaped flowers bloom below the crown of leaves.
