J. maritimus - J. maritimus is an upright, clump-forming, borderline hardy, rhizomatous, evergreen perennial with sharp stems bearing cylindrical, sharp-pointed, mid-green leaves and, in summer, upright, open panicles of small, light green flowers spikelets followed by pale brown seeds.

Moth whose larvae feed on sedge and grass stems; found (in 2014) to be damaging glasshouse peppers in Greece. Industry may wish to monitor for its presence.
