Under glass, grow in loam-based compost in full light with shade from hot sun. Water freely & feed monthly in growth. Outdoors in a sheltered site, grow in moderately fertile, moist but well-drained soil in sun with some midday shade. Drought tolerant but best with regular irrigation in summer. May drop leaves in summer drought. In light frosts, may die back to the base but resprout in spring.
