The leaves are covered in mines and collective mines appear as a
large white mark. Leaves appear burnt and dried-up and the celery
produces a sickly bulb.
Spot them
The summer generation flies are relatively pale, red-yellow, with
pale heads. Those of the winter generation are shiny black. All are
5-6 mm long and have dark, striped wings.
