P. x pubescens - P. x pubescens is a vigorous, rosette-forming, evergreen perennial with broadly spoon-shaped to ovate, sometimes white-mealy, mid- to grey-green leaves and, in spring, umbels of salverform flowers in a variety of colours. Flowers are often fragrant and usually bicoloured, in combinations that may include yellow, white, pink, purple or red.

Where to grow

Primula x pubescens (Garden auricula) will reach a height of 0.15m and a spread of 0.3m after 2-5 years.

Cultivation

Plant in moderately fertile, humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil, preferably in partial shade thought tolerates sun. Or, grow under glass or in an alpine house in an equal mix loam, leaf mould, & grit. Does not tolerate hot, humid conditions.
