Z. zamiifolia is a tender, evergreen perennial, typically grown as an indoor plant, with pinnate, glossy, dark green leaves divided into paired, elliptic to ovate leaflets. Green spathes occasionally appearing at the base of the leaves in summer are followed by white fruit.
