A. leuconeura is a tender, succulent perennial with short, upright stems bearing compact mounds of dense rosettes of oval, pointed, fleshy, grey- to bright green leaves, each leaf with a purple stripe down the centre. Conical panicles of cream to pale yellow flowers bloom in late spring.
