Liriodendron tulipifera (Tulip tree )
Other names: Tulip magnolia, Tulip poplar, Yellow poplar, Whitewood
L. tulipifera is a large, deciduous, upright tree with a broad crown. It has green, shallow lobed leaves in spring and summer, and yellow autumn colour. In early summer it produces tulip-shaped, upright, yellow-green flowers that are mainly near the top of the tree.
