Quercus coccifera (Kermes oak)
Q. coccifera is a slow-growing, bushy, rounded to spreading, evergreen shrub or small tree with ovate, oblong, or lance-shaped, glossy, dark green leaves with spiny, margins and insignificant, yellow-green flowers in spring. Female flowers are followed small, spherical or ovoid acorns with spiny cups.
