'Green Pillar' is an upright, narrowly columnar, deciduous tree with glossy, mid- to dark green leaves divided into five, bristle-tipped lobes, the entire leaf turning scarlet to deep red in autumn. Insignificant catkins of tiny, green flowers in spring are followed by ovoid, brown fruit.
