Cultivation

Where native, grows along the edges of wetlands. As a lawn grass in frost-free areas, grow in fertile, well-drained or moist but well-drained soil in full sun. Tolerates moderate drought and light shade. Withstands considerable wear and tolerates salt spray. Under glass, grow in loam-based compost in full light. In growth, water freely & feed every 2 weeks.
