'Variegata' _ 'Variegata' is vigorous, erect, annual, cereal grass with sturdy, leafy stems bearing lance-shaped, arching, pointed, often red-flushed, cream and green-striped leaves and, in summer, spike-like panicles of small, yellow flowers followed by cobs with flatted, edible grains.
